The ancient writers say that they are named after the nymph Trace who has been unsurpassed in the magic charming and healing with medicinal herbs. It is therefore believed that the Thracians are very skilful in using the precious healing herbs which grow on their land, combining the treatment with other procedures and implications. The Trace ancestries have made discoveries which the contemporary medicine reached in XX c. A.D. "... as the healing of the eyes should not begin before the body is healed, so the body cannot be healed without healing the soul". This fame made the Thracian healers the most wanted and obviously the richest ones.
