The Cherepishki Monastery is hugged among the picturesque rocks of the gorge of the Iskar River near the village of Lyutibrod, Varna District. During the first half of XVII c., when the Turkish oppressors allow the construction of new cult buildings, the Cherepishki Monastery is restored at the site of the old one which has been demolished by the Ottoman invasions. The scarce resources and the requirements of the enslavers determine the modest character of the new church. With the development of the monastery new buildings are erected such as: "Metodievoto zdanie", "Vlashkata sgrada", the old abbot's building, the guest house, the Rashid's house, the Chema's building, the school, the Danail's building, the warehouses, the chapel with the charnel house, the belfry etc. The murals of the Cherepishki monastery are not well-preserved but there is written evidence depicting the rich historical life of the monastery and its surroundings. In the period 1390-1395 one of the oldest preserved manuscripts is written here - the monastery's regulations. In this monastery have been written and decorated two gospels - one of which is with gold incrustations. The Cherepishki monastery is a big educational centre of the Bulgarian culture during the hard period of the Ottoman domination. The monastery's treasure of works of the ecclesiastic art includes some icons from the beginning of the past century, the old part of the wood-carved iconostasis and the bishop's throne. Interesting is also the silver reliquary made by two goldsmiths in 1792 and the embroidered shroud from 1844.
