The Dolni Pasarel Monastery lies at a distance of 4 km east of the village of Dolni Pasarel, Sofia District. It is supposed that there has been a small chapel at the site which afterwards has developed as a modest monastery. The church is dedicated to the apostles "Saint Peter and Pavel". It is built during XIX c. The church is a single-chamber one with a semi-cylindrical stone masonry above which there is a double-layer roof. The paintings in the interior of the church are according to the traditional ecclesiastical requirements. The mural paintings are made by Hristo Iliev (1878) and the brothers Mihail and Hristo Blagoevi. The paintings in the church of the monastery represent a rather primitive conception of the world. The artists have been led by their personal belief and skills in the process of depicting the clerical history. Very impressive is the disproportion of the human figures. The faces are represented in the simplest way with a benign outlook which makes the murals pleasant to the eye. The intensive colours, obtained through pure tones, with the domination of the blue, contribute to this feeling. Today the monastery is neglected and not functioning.
