The village of Ivanovo lies at a distance of 18 km southwest of Russe. Ivanovo is the administrative municipal centre of 10 settlements in the region. It has a population of 1 000 inhabitants. The municipality is specialized in the production of grains, fodder and technical cultures. According to historical facts the settlement is founded during the reign of King Ivan Asen II (1218-1241).
