The village of Slivo Pole lies at a distance of 24 km northeast of Russe. Slivo Pole is the municipal centre of 9 settlements. It has a population of about 3 400 inhabitants. The region of the municipality is specialized in the food-processing industry and agriculture. On the territory of the municipality there are archaeological remains of a Thracian settlement.
