The town of Senovo has a population of about 2 000 inhabitants and lies at a distance of 46 km southeast of Russe. There are kaolin deposits on the territory of the town. The region is specialized in the production of grains, sunflower and tobacco.

In the town of Senovo there is a prehistoric settlement mound and about 20 Thracian mounds, ancient and medieval settlements.
