The village of Vetrino is the centre of a municipality in the Varna District with 9 component settlements. It lies at a distance of 45 km northwest of Varna. The settlement is known under the name of Yasatepe until 1934. In the region of Vetrino have been discovered the remains of an Ancient settlement. The settlement is described in the Ottoman tax registry books in 1573.
