 The town of Brezovo lies at a distance of 37 km northeast of Plovdiv and has a population of 2 000 inhabitants. The town is a municipal administrative centre of 37 component settlements.
In the vicinities of the town have been discovered Thracian mounds. The church in the town is built in 1834. Brezovo has a winery. The region of the municipality is specialized in the production of grains and technical cultures. Brezovo is the home town of the great Bulgarian artist Zlatyo Byadzhiev. The artist paints compositions of portraits, landscapes from Plovdiv and its surroundings. Among his most famous works are: ‘Shepherds near Brezovo", "Winter in Plovdiv", "The Pigsty" and many others.
