The applications from the Marble Mound, Panagyurishte, Plovdiv District are discovered accidentally in 1903. The origin and the purpose of the silver applications found there are debatable. They are divided in two parts -shield applications and applications for a horse's ammunition. They date back to the period of VII - IV c. B.C.

The shield decoration from the Marble mound dates from VII c. B .C. It is made of silver. At the centre of the decoration there has been an oblong application of 32 cm height, ornamented with human and animal figures, which are naively depicted. The applications are made of silver and date from V c. B.C. There are ten applications: two big round ones with a diameter of 5,5 cm and eight four-angled slates. The purpose of the slates cannot be exactly defined- whether they are applications for a horse's ammunition or shield or armour decorations.
